Tree Gone
by Julian on May.18, 2010, under Home Ownership
The lilac tree in my back yard is mostly firewood. The tree collapsed while it was being cut down. The roots looked rotted. I want to remove the rocks and put in grass. Removing the tree was the first step in that direction. Once I get the lawn in, I will plant at least one lilac tree, and maybe two.

January 2010
by jultho on Jan.28, 2010, under Website News
Guess it has been a little while. I've been working on my other domains. I tried to get TikiWiki to do my website on, but it just won't do what I want it to do. That is the latest for now.

The best thing I have heard in awhile:
As long as there are tests, there will be prayer in public schools.
Peace.

Website For a Friend
by jultho on Dec.09, 2009, under Website News
A friend of mine asked me to setup a website for her. It will be a website musical in nature, have an event calendar, some music and cool pictures, of course.
I started out with WordPress. I like how it is written, how it laid out. I had used it before and was willing to get back into it. After spending a night trying to get the calendar working, without success, I moved over to tikiwiki.
Tikiwiki kicks... er butt! (keeping it clean for mom) It is an awesomely powerful tool for running a website on. Another day and not a working calander, drupal was next.
Drupal would involve learning a whole new concept. It, along with tikiwiki, was almost overkill for what I was trying to accomplish.
joomla_15 is next.
Got a Fire, Finally
by jultho on Dec.03, 2009, under Home Ownership
Well, it took three tries but I finally got a decent fire. Disappointed I didn't have a love one to share it with. OTHOH, I did try a romantic fire, several years ago. But firemen showing up because I set of the fire alarm just doesn't do it for a date.
It took three tries. The fire one never got going. I had the fire grate upside down. Corrected that little error and made attempt two. It made a good show and just fizzled out.
Try three yielded much better results. I loosely followed the steps as outline by the blog of Tim Ferriss. It worked out pretty good. Oh and I removed that pesky grate.
My one disappointment with the fire was a lack of heat. I remember when I was a kid the fires where very warm. We sat across the room from the fireplace and the whole room was very warm. I got heat near the fire... but not much in the room. Will have to try it again.
Take care.
