Flinging Cables
by Julian on Oct.10, 2010, under Julian, Home Ownership
Julian offers wise notes for those setting up a household network: When flinging the Ethernet cable across the hall in the direction of the potty, it would be wise to make sure the commode cover is closed. Not only is the sound of the splash sicking, the popping and release of smoke from the device connecting to the other end of the cable is disheartening. I wonder if Wal-Mart sells routers?

Nuked, blacklisted and reported one. The other one was vague, might be related, but I couldn't see it. Just flagged it as depreciated.
Recomended Software: Smart Diary Suite
by Julian on Jun.23, 2010, under Julian
One of the things I have been doing is keeping a diary. I post here at seawa.com and I have a facebook account. Both are public accounts. I don't allow much outside posting here at seawa.
I've spent the last year or so setting up a private diary on my Linux machine, but became concerned about how to keep my thoughts private. After all, blogging is not about privacy, it is about sharing information. OTOH a diary is private. Especially some of my thoughts.
In my searching for making a diary out of blogging software I ran across something called Smart Diary Suite http://www.sdiary.com/ .
Not only is it a diary, but I can keep track of everything. Medication, weight, exercise, mood. If even has a Gnatt chart. Great feature on for getting that Honey Do jar emptied.
If you are looking for a diary, I recommend this software. It is awesome. It is also very well put together and looks very professional.
And yes, I am using it.
